PHARMEET-2017, a National Conference on ‘Emerging Prospects in Pharmaceutical Industry’ was organized by department of Pharmaceutical Management, MITCON Institute of Management, Pune, on Febraury 11th, 2017. It was attended by over 700 Pharmacy students, Industry experts and Academicians

Prof. Nitpal Singh, Deputy Director, Pharmaceutical Management, was the Convener for the event. The aim of the conference was to provide a platform for industry academia interaction as well as to create awareness with regard to opportunities and scope after graduation, in the Pharma Industry.

Dr. Pradeep Bavdekar, Managing Trustee, MITCON Foundation and Dr. Ganesh Rao, Director, MITCON Institute of Management addressed the conference and guided the students.

It was a High-energy, packed agenda, delivering some really interesting insights and an excellent refresher on up-to-date trends and best practices.

It was an excellent opportunity to share insights and best practice across the pharmaceutical industries.

145 students from various parts of India participated in Poster Presentation and Ad Mad show. Judges were Pharma Industry executives and Academicians from colleges of Pharmacy. Winners were awarded Trophies along with Cash Prizes.

The event brought together truly innovative thinkers who are leading the way through trialing new disruptive solutions and rethinking the conventional formulation and delivery mind-set and will help students to better understand how to develop the right formulation and delivery strategy with a strong scientific, clinical and commercial mind set and how innovative scientific techniques, emerging technologies and innovative devices can transform formulation and drug delivery.

Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Pankaj Gursahani, Director –T&D, AstraZeneca India Ltd.

Top executives from Pharmaceutical companies viz Dr. Chetanraj Bhamare, Sr. Manager, Clinical Research and Pharmacovigilancer,Serum Institute of India Ltd, Ms. Leena Jaisingh, Chief Group Product Manager, Pfizer IndiaLtd. Mr. Ashish Sharma, GM-Learning & Development, Wellness Forever addressed the gathering.

PHARMEET 2014

PHARMEET – 2014, a National Conference on ‘An insight into the Pharmaceutical World’ was organized by the Department of Pharmaceutical Management, MITCON Institute of Management, Pune, on February 8, 2014, was attended by more than 500 students and academicians.

Under the guidance of Dr. Ganesh Rao – Director and Prof Varsha Agte, HOD – Department of Pharmaceutical Management, MITCON organized this conference to provide a platform for industry academia interaction at a professional level and make students aware about the existing and upcoming opportunities after graduation in pharma sector. Prof Nitpal Singh, Faculty – Department of Pharmaceutical Management was the Convener of the event. The symposium was an endeavor to bring together all the stake holders of the pharma industry.

A total of 155 students participated in Pharma Quiz and 85 Posters were received from different states. There were different poster presentation competition for under-graduates and post-graduates. Winners were awarded Trophies along with Cash Prizes with the highest amounting to Rs 3,000. The prizes were sponsored by Resilient Cosmeceuticals Pvt. Ltd and GPL India. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Pankaj Upadhyay, Executive Vice – President, Akumentis Healthcare Ltd.

“Key note speakers from Pharmaceutical companies graced the occasion with their valuable talks. While Mr. Pankaj Upadhyay, Executive Vice – President, Akumentis Healthcare Ltd. emphasized on the importance of brand ‘I’ to succeed in Pharma Industry. Mr. Prithwish Banerjee, Head Sales, Boehringer- Ingelheim (India) Ltd. gave an insight about the growth in Pharma Industry and told the students about the right attitude required to grow with the Industry. Mr.Mehboob Hudewale, Manager, International Marketing, Cipla spoke about the opportunities in the Pharma International Marketing. Mr. Umesh Kutty, Senior Training Manager, IPCA Labs. Ltd. focused on importance of beginning a career in Pharma Sales. Mr. Sachin Purohit, Founder and Owner, Resilient Cosmeceuticals Pvt. Ltd. gave an insight into the career paths in Biotech and Cosmeceutical Industry. Mr. Yatin Thange, Product Manager, Abbott India Ltd. focused on career in product management team and Mr. Ashwin Deshpande, Marketing Manager, Emcure Pharma Ltd. on Pharma Marketing as a career.”

PHARMEET – 2013

PHARMEET – 2013, a National Conference on ‘Opportunities in Pharmaceutical Industry’ was organized by the Department of Pharmaceutical Management, MITCON Institute of Management, Pune, on Feb 2, 2013, and attended by more than 550 students and academicians.Under the guidance of Dr. Ganesh Rao -Director and Dr. Shubhangi Salokhe – Dean, the Department of Pharmaceutical Management had organized this conference to provide a platform for industry academia interaction at a professional level and make students aware about the opportunities after graduation in Pharma sector. Prof Varsha Agte, HOD – Department of Pharmaceutical Management, was the Convener and Prof Nitpal Singh the Co-convener.

The symposium was an endeavor to bring together all the stake holders of the pharmaceutical field to guide the students about opportunities and scope in Pharmaceutical industry

Even though this was the inaugural conference of an annual series scheduled to address Pharma issues, there was an overwhelming response from Pharmacy and life science students from 45 colleges in 20+ cities in India.A total of 185 students participated in Pharma Quiz and 125 Posters were received from Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, New Delhi and Rajasthan. Judges were academicians from Colleges of Pharmacy. There was different poster presentation competition for under-graduates and post-graduates. Winners were awarded Trophies along with Cash Prizes with the highest amounting to Rs 3,000.The prizes were sponsored by Resilient Cosmeceuticals Pvt. Ltd and Waiko Pharmaceuticals.

The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Krishna Prasad, Director – Alliance Partner Quality Assurance – India, Pfizer India Pvt Ltd. There were five sessions, addressed by Key note speakers from the Industry.

While Mr. Krishna Prasad – Director – Alliance Partner Quality Assurance – India, Pfizer India Pvt Ltd. emphasized on the importance of grabbing the right opportunity at the right time, Mr. Vishal Jajodia- CEO – Swati Spentose Pvt. Ltd gave an insight about the etiquettes and mannerism and told the students about the right attitude required while in the industry. Dr. Vipin Dhanorkar- Director – IPR Group, Lupin Ltd. spoke about the opportunities in the IPR sector; Dr. Prasad Kulkarni- Medical Director –Serum institute of India Ltd explained the students about the recent scenario of clinical trials in India and Mr. Padalkar – AGM – Sinsan Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. about “Marketing” as a career.
